Mexico's municipal markets and streets face construction delays and safety issues

In Tonalá, Jalisco, the intersection of Pino Suárez and Insurgentes has deteriorated into a bumpy, muddy thoroughfare, hindering vehicles and pedestrians. A severe storm in the Guadalajara metropolitan area has caused flooding, reduced visibility and road closures.

In Querétaro, municipal authorities announced the start of the second phase of a roof‑construction project at the Tianguis Pirineos market in the Miguel Hidalgo colonia of the Félix Osores delegation. With an allocation of 13 million 187 thousand 931 pesos, the work will extend the covering to the entire market area, improve adjacent streets, a green area and a basketball court, after earlier complaints that only part of the market had been roofed.
