The National Meteorological Service (SMN) warned that strong rainfall will affect several regions of Puebla on Sunday, June 28, 2026. The system is linked to high‑level cyclonic circulations, mid‑level troughs, atmospheric instability and the passage of tropical wave number 12 over the central Pacific. Forecasts call for intense showers delivering 25 to 50 mm of rain in the north, centre and southeast of the state, with temperatures remaining high at 30‑35 °C in the southern part.

The broader weather pattern also brings heavy rain to other Mexican states, notably Michoacán and Guerrero, while a low‑pressure area over the southeast and tropical wave number 13 influence national conditions. A heat wave is expected to subside as an anticyclonic flow moves toward the United States.
