Mexico's SAT expands mobile service tour and cracks down on fraudulent invoicing

The Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT) is conducting a mobile‑office tour across 28 Mexican states from 8 to 12 June, providing around 10,000 tax procedures to an estimated 4,000 citizens. The itinerant modules will operate in locations such as Chicontepec (Veracruz), San Blas (Nayarit), Frontera Hidalgo (Chiapas), Jalpan de Serra (Querétaro), Pinos (Zacatecas), Monterrey (Nuevo León), Dzidzantún (Yucatán), Reynosa (Tamaulipas), Mulegé (Baja California Sur), Nacajuca (Tabasco), Parras (Coahuila) and San Salvador Atenco (Estado de México), offering services like RFC registration, electronic signature issuance, tax status certificates and fiscal advice without prior appointments.

In parallel, SAT has released a national list of more than 100 alleged "factureros" – companies accused of issuing simulated invoices – including cases in Veracruz. The president of the Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas (IMEF) warned that taxpayers using such invoices risk losing deductions, fines exceeding 200,000 pesos, and possible criminal proceedings. The authority is intensifying checks on providers of specialized services, especially those lacking the required REPSE registration, and urges businesses to verify the legitimacy of their suppliers.
