Mexico's SDR and Conafor Train 60 Forest Health Brigades
The Rural Development Secretariat (SDR) and the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) jointly held a Forest Health Workshop at the State Fire Management Center, training 60 participants that included forest service providers, SDR forest‑health brigades and staff from various environmental agencies.
The program updated attendees on current regulations, notification procedures, damage assessment of bark‑beetle infestations, proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of agrochemicals. The training is part of a collaboration agreement between SDR and Conafor to standardize technical criteria and improve response to forest‑health threats.
