Mexico's security forces seize drugs, weapons and recover stolen vehicles in Campeche

Mexico's security agencies carried out coordinated operations on 2 June 2026 that resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of illicit goods across several states. In Campeche, the Guardia Nacional and state police detained nine individuals and confiscated two short firearms, four cartridges and various drug doses. The same day, police in San Francisco de Campeche recovered a fleet of stolen vehicles from a private yard, apprehending five suspects linked to the theft.

The broader crackdown, reported by the Cabinet of Security, also included the seizure of an estimated 13 million cigarettes in Durango, an improvised explosive device and cocaine in Michoacán, large quantities of marijuana and firearms in Quintana Roo, and significant amounts of precursor chemicals for methamphetamine production in Sinaloa. Authorities highlighted the actions as part of the National Security Strategy aimed at curbing organized crime and drug trafficking.
