Mexico's State DIF Agencies Boost Disability Support with New Vehicles and Wheelchairs

The Coahuila state branch of the Sistema para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) purchased 45 newly adapted transport vehicles to serve people with disabilities across the state's 38 municipalities. The acquisition, financed by the state government, replaces aging units that had been in service for a decade or more and aims to maintain mobility for therapy, medical appointments and social activities.

In Sinaloa, the DIF delivered 70 wheelchairs to individuals in Culiacán, Angostura, Badiraguato, Elota, Sinaloa municipality and Navolato, part of a broader effort that has provided 510 functional supports to people with disabilities in 2026. The program seeks to improve autonomy, inclusion and quality of life for beneficiaries of all ages, with further deliveries planned for additional municipalities.

Both initiatives are under the state-level Subprogram of Inclusion and Attention to Persons with Disabilities, reflecting a broader strategy to strengthen mobility and social integration for disabled citizens in Mexico.
