Mexico's Welfare Secretary announces 289 million pesos for education projects

Laura Artemisa García Chávez, the Secretary of Welfare, announced that more than 289 million pesos have been invested in 1,594 Community Work projects within the state. These funds are directed toward improving educational infrastructure, addressing long-standing issues such as deteriorated restrooms, classroom maintenance, walls, roofing, and dining areas.

Speaking during a press conference led by Governor Alejandro Armenta, García Chávez emphasized that the government's approach involves listening to parents, teachers, and local communities to identify real needs rather than making decisions from an office. The initiative aims to dignify public institutions and improve the learning environment for children and youth as the 2026-2027 school year begins.
