Mezipatra Queer Film Festival begins 27th edition in Prague

The 27th annual Mezipatra Queer Film Festival has launched at the Lucerna cinema in Prague. This year’s program features 78 films, including 28 feature-length and 50 short films, focusing on themes of adolescence, identity, and first loves.

The festival opened with the Brazilian film “Gugův svět,” which follows an eleven-year-old boy finding acceptance through his grandmother. Other notable titles include the Greek film “Medvědí jeskyně,” the Cannes award-winning “Benzin v krvi,” and the A24 production “Club Kid.”

The Prague portion of the festival runs until November 12, after which the event moves to Brno from November 13 to November 20. The festival includes international guests, such as Taiwanese director Su Hui-Yu and Belgian screenwriter Angelo Tijssens, and features competitions for the main jury, a student jury, and the audience.
