Minas Gerais government announces regional development and cultural initiatives
The Government of Minas Gerais has launched several initiatives aimed at regional development and social support. Through the Coopera + Rio Doce project, a selection process for cooperatives and associations in the Rio Doce Basin has been extended until November 11. Funded by the Rio Doce Reparation Agreement following the 2015 Fundão dam failure, the project will provide technical and managerial assistance to 30 organizations to strengthen local collective economies.
In the Vale do Jequitinhonha region, the State Secretariat of Culture and Tourism is allocating R$ 8 million through the National Aldir Blanc Policy (Pnab). This unprecedented dedicated fund will support cultural agents across 55 municipalities, aiming to decentralize cultural financing and promote local artistic diversity.
Additionally, the state is conducting housing regularization actions in various municipalities, including Machado, through the “Meu Lar” project. This initiative, a partnership involving Cohab Minas and the Judiciary, assists residents in resolving contract pendencies to secure definitive property deeds. Meanwhile, the official MG App has been named a finalist in the iBest Award under the State Government category, recognizing its role in providing over 200 digital public services to millions of users.
