MG Motor India launches Hector Tomahawk EV and PHEV SUVs

JSW MG Motor India has launched the MG Hector Tomahawk, the first SUV built on the company’s new ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) multi-new energy vehicle platform. The vehicle is available in two distinct powertrain configurations: a fully electric vehicle (EV) and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

The EV variant features a 69.2 kWh battery providing a claimed range of 517 km and supports 90 kW DC fast charging. It is offered in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. The PHEV variant, which is available exclusively as a 7-seater, utilizes a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 20.5 kWh battery to achieve a combined driving range of over 1,100 km.

MG is offering both models under an introductory Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, which allows customers to rent the battery separately to lower upfront costs. The EV starts at ₹13.99 lakh under BaaS, while the PHEV starts at ₹21.79 lakh under the same scheme. The vehicle includes advanced features such as Level 2 ADAS, a 15.6-inch infotainment display, and India’s first GenAI-powered voice assistant capable of understanding Hinglish commands.
