MG Motor India to launch Hector Hawk 7-seater SUV

JSW MG Motor India is preparing to launch the Hector Hawk, a new seven-seater SUV, with a scheduled release date of August 26, 2026. The vehicle is based on the Wuling Starlight 560 and will be the first production model to utilize MG’s new ADAPT platform, which is designed to support various powertrains including EVs, plug-in hybrids (PHEV), and range extenders.

The upcoming SUV is expected to feature a plug-in hybrid configuration consisting of a 1.5-liter petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 20.5 kWh battery pack. This setup is projected to produce approximately 194 to 197 hp and 230 Nm of torque, offering an electric-only range of about 125 kilometers.

Design elements revealed in teasers include a modern exterior with split DRLs, LED headlamps, and dual-tone alloy wheels. The interior features a premium beige theme with a large freestanding touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and adjustable headrests across all three rows to accommodate larger families. Pre-bookings for the vehicle have reportedly commenced with a token amount of ₹21,000.
