MG ZS Hybrid+ unveiled in Indonesia with 3‑stage DHT gearbox, slated for Vietnam
MG Motor Indonesia introduced the MG ZS Hybrid+ at a launch event, marking the brand's first hybrid SUV in the Indonesian market. The model combines a 1.5‑litre gasoline engine with a 136‑hp electric motor and features a pioneering three‑stage DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission) gearbox, delivering up to 250 Nm of torque. Its dimensions (4,430 mm long, 1,818 mm wide, 1,635 mm high, 2,610 mm wheelbase) place it slightly larger than rivals such as the Honda HR‑V RS e:HEV and Toyota Yaris Cross HEV. The vehicle is equipped with 15 ADAS functions and seven airbags, earning a five‑star safety rating.
The launch follows MG's strategy to expand its electrified lineup across Southeast Asia. While initially sold in Indonesia, the company plans to bring the ZS Hybrid+ to the Vietnamese market later in the year, positioning it against other compact hybrid SUVs and MPVs that are being introduced in the region.
