MGM Hospital in Warangal reports second ceiling collapse in two days

MGM Hospital in Warangal has experienced a second structural incident within two days. On Tuesday, ceiling plaster fell in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) and the physiotherapy departments. No injuries were reported during this specific incident as no patients or staff were in the immediate vicinity at the time.

This follows a major collapse in the hospital’s Aarogyasri ward on Sunday, which injured eight people, including patients and sanitation workers. The repeated failures have sparked significant concern regarding the safety and deteriorating infrastructure of the state-run facility, which serves as a major medical hub for northern Telangana.

Following the latest incident, police were deployed at the hospital's main gates, and reports indicate restrictions were placed on media access to certain areas of the premises.
