Turkey's MHP pushes 'terror‑free' vision at party congresses

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) officials highlighted a “terror‑free Turkey” agenda at several recent party meetings.

MHP Central Executive Board member Özmen Alp Giray Erdemir spoke at the party’s 14th ordinary congress in Beypazarı, urging members to build a “big and powerful Turkey” and pledging to eradicate terrorism.

MHP deputy chairman İsmail Faruk Aksu addressed the Maltepe district congress, reiterating the party’s goal of a “terror‑free Turkey” and linking the vision to the party’s long‑term plan to make Turkey a regional leader and super‑power by 2053, under the leadership of Devlet Bahçeli and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Deputy chairman Sadir Durmaz, speaking at the Keçiören district congress, described the elimination of terrorism as vital for Turkey’s security, economic growth, political stability and regional leadership, and warned that opponents of the vision would face consequences.

All three speakers emphasized national unity, the rejection of “political opportunists,” and the importance of the upcoming 7 March 2027 grand congress in advancing the party’s agenda.
