MHP considers 20 million euro poultry investment in Moldova
The Ukrainian agro-food group MHP, controlled by billionaire Yuriy Kosyuk, is considering a significant investment in Moldova's poultry industry. According to documents from the Investment Agency, Moldovan authorities are examining a project that involves an initial investment of at least 20 million euros to develop poultry meat processing capacities.
In an expanded version, the project could reach an annual capacity of approximately 50,000 tons and include the development of a network of independent contract farms. The production is intended primarily for export. To facilitate this, the investor is requesting that Moldovan authorities remove several trade barriers between Ukraine and Moldova, including the authorization of Ukrainian feed imports, opening the market for day-old chicks, and allowing imports of meat and food by-products.
