MHP district congresses re‑elect local leaders across Turkey

The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) held a series of district congresses throughout Turkey, where incumbent chairs were unanimously re‑elected in numerous locales. In Afyonkarahisar’s Bayat and Emirdağ districts, MP Mehmet Taytak praised the party’s “dava” mission and unity. Aldonat Atlı was reconfirmed as Niğde’s central district chair, while Gürsel Karaçul retained the İnönü (Eskişehir) post. Erkan Yağar, Serkan Oduncu, Tunahan Ongün, and other district heads in Pasinler, Nevşehir, Milas, Yıldırım, and additional regions also secured fresh mandates. The gatherings emphasized party cohesion, support for the Cumhur İttifakı, and a continued stance against terrorism, with speeches from local officials and occasional remarks by party leader Devlet Bahçeli. In contrast, Trabzon’s provincial chair Tolgay Sivrikaya announced his resignation to facilitate organizational renewal, stating it was not a resignation but a step toward smoother congress processes. Business founder Oğuz Alper Öktem was elected as a delegate in Kocaeli, marking his entry into formal party politics.
