Mi Teleférico wins contract to operate Bogotá's TransMiCable

The Bolivian state-owned company Mi Teleférico, as part of the Mi Cable San Cristóbal consortium, has won an international tender to operate and maintain Bogotá’s new TransMiCable system in Colombia. The contract, awarded by TransMilenio, is valued at approximately 390.8 billion Colombian pesos (roughly US$107.7 million) and will span 124 months, or 10 years and four months.

The consortium includes Mi Teleférico, Empresa Operadora de Transportes Gran Américas S.A.S., and Ingeniería, Tecnología y Conocimiento S.A.S. (Inteckno S.A.S.). The scope of work covers passenger services, maintenance of electromechanical and infrastructure components, security systems, cleaning, surveillance, environmental management, and emergency protocols.

Scheduled to begin operations in December 2026, the TransMiCable project features a 2.8-kilometer route with three stations—Altamira, La Victoria, and 20 de Julio—and 144 cabins. The system is expected to significantly reduce travel times for residents in the San Cristóbal area, cutting commutes from approximately 45 minutes to 10 minutes.
