Michael Jordan 1998 NBA Finals jersey sells for record $12.26 million
A game-worn Michael Jordan jersey from Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals sold for a record-breaking $12.26 million at a JOOPITER auction. The white jersey, featuring Jordan’s number 23 and the official 1998 NBA Finals patch, is noted as the only known white jersey from that series currently in the public domain.
The sale occurred during the era of the Chicago Bulls’ “Last Dance” season, the final championship run for the roster led by Jordan, Phil Jackson, and Scottie Pippen. The auction also included other high-profile items, such as a 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello driven by Jordan.
The record-setting sale has also drawn attention to the broader sports memorabilia and trading card markets. Collectors are increasingly seeking rare items, such as the Upper Deck Chronology Letterman Patch Autograph cards, which feature game-worn jersey pieces and autographs.
