Michael Jordan's Ferrari 550 Maranello sells for record $2.7 million

A 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello previously owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan has sold at auction for $2.7 million, setting a new record for this specific model. The sale price significantly exceeded initial estimates, which had placed the vehicle's value between $700,000 and $1.3 million.

Jordan acquired the car in 1997 during his tenure with the Chicago Bulls. The vehicle featured a driver's seat custom-modified to accommodate his height. After being used by Jordan until 2002, the car remained in a private collection in California for approximately 25 years.

The vehicle, finished in Rosso Corsa with a beige leather interior, has a recorded mileage of 29,774 km. Its high valuation is attributed to its pristine condition and its direct association with the basketball icon.
