Michael Jordan’s Ferrari 550 Maranello to be auctioned

A 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello personally owned and driven by Michael Jordan is scheduled to go up for auction through Joopiter starting September 15. The vehicle is highly significant due to its connection to Jordan’s tenure with the Chicago Bulls, specifically during his fifth and sixth championship seasons.

The car features a Rosso Barchetta exterior, chrome Speedline wheels, and a tan leather interior. Notably, the driver’s seat was customized with extended rails and reduced padding to accommodate Jordan’s 6'6" frame. It also retains its iconic “MJ5” vanity plate.

Beyond its historical use, the vehicle served as a design inspiration for the Air Jordan XIV sneaker. While the auction will begin with a minimum price of $700,000, experts estimate the final sale could reach approximately $1.3 million.
