Michael Weatherly returns to NCIS for season 24

Michael Weatherly will return to the CBS series ‘NCIS’ for its 24th season, reprising his role as Tony DiNozzo. The actor originally left the long-running procedural in 2016 after thirteen seasons.

Showrunner Steven D. Binder noted that the character has evolved since his departure. DiNozzo is currently in Washington, D.C., expanding his private security company, Salus Mondiale. His return to the narrative is prompted by a case that draws him back into collaboration with the NCIS team.

This casting follows the cancellation of the Paramount+ spin-off ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’. The upcoming season is scheduled to debut on October 6.
