Michelin Guide launches first Southwest US selection
The Michelin Guide has released its inaugural Southwest Guide, expanding its culinary coverage to include Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Nevada. The announcement and selection ceremony took place at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.
In Utah, Park City establishments including Handle, The Nelson Cottage by High West, and Matilda received recognition. Handle, led by chef Briar Handly, and The Nelson Cottage, a tasting-menu concept led by Chef de Cuisine Julia Sorroche, were among those highlighted.
The expansion follows Michelin's long-standing presence in North America, which began with its first guide in New York in 2005. Gwendal Poullennec, the international director of the Michelin Guide, stated that the expansion aims to help travelers discover culinary talent through independent recommendations.
