Mexican authorities reclaim illegal land in Michoacán and launch nationwide crime busts

State officials in Michoacán, led by Secretary of Government Raúl Zepeda, carried out a coordinated operation with the Guardia Civil, Guardia Nacional and the State Attorney General’s Office to reclaim a plot in Uruapan that had been occupied illegally since December. The land, owned by the municipality and a private party, was secured and the occupiers were evicted under a court order, with investigations opened against those responsible.

In Cancún, the State Attorney General’s Office detained two men and recovered six motorcycles reported as stolen after a police patrol observed suspicious activity. A follow‑up search uncovered four additional motorcycles hidden in a nearby green area, all of which were turned over to the public prosecutor.

The prosecutor’s office in Zacatecas, together with the State Peace and Security Council, apprehended eight individuals charged with offenses ranging from family‑violence and drug trafficking to robbery and illegal property seizure.

Police in Lomas de Enmedio rescued a concrete‑company employee who had been forced by extortionists to drive a blue tractor‑trailer while being threatened and asked for 300,000 pesos. He was found unharmed after a city‑wide search.

In Tepic, four men from Jalisco were identified and detained for a violent robbery of a jewelry store, with a Nissan Versa and a Chevrolet Sonic seized as part of the investigation.
