Michoacán Human Rights Commission holds HIV care training
The Michoacán State Human Rights Commission (CEDH), in coordination with the Ambulatory Centers for the Prevention and Care of AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (CAPASITS) and various civil society organizations, held a training workshop focused on the human rights of people living with HIV.
Ombudsperson Josué Mejía emphasized that specialized care is essential to eradicating the historical discrimination faced by this population. The initiative, which was driven by local collectives including Las Tarascas en Busca de la Libertad, Responde Diversidad A.C., and Colectivo Michoacán es Diversidad A.C., aims to professionalize staff and unify criteria for the approach, follow-up, and care of service users.
