Michoacán infrastructure works progress in Ecuandureo
The Michoacán Secretariat of Communications and Public Works (SCOP) is overseeing paving and social infrastructure projects in the El Colorín locality of Ecuandureo. Specifically, work is progressing on Álamos and Obregón streets as part of the ‘Obras por Cooperación’ program.
This initiative utilizes a collaborative model where neighborhood committees provide labor, municipal governments supply machinery and materials, and the Michoacán state government, through SCOP, provides cement. This scheme aims to address local needs through direct community participation.
In 2026, the Michoacán government has reported 613 consolidated projects through this program, resulting in over 63,000 linear meters of paved streets across 60 municipalities in the state.
