Michoacán launches arts teaching degree program for experienced artists

The Michoacán Secretariat of Culture (Secum), in coordination with the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), has opened a call for the Professional Experience Accreditation Degree Support Program. This initiative allows artists who have not completed higher education to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Teaching.

As part of the ‘Michoacán for Peace and Justice Plan,’ 80 applications will be accepted, with 40 individuals ultimately selected. The program offers four semesters of free, distance learning with academic support and personalized follow-up from INBAL instructors.

The call is open to Michoacán residents over the age of 30 who have completed high school and possess at least five years of verifiable experience in fields such as artistic teaching, performance, stage direction, research, or various creative disciplines including music, visual arts, and literature. Registration is free and remains open until September 18 or until the 80 available slots are filled. Results are expected to be published on November 11.
