Michoacán launches free 4 GB student internet program

The Instituto de Educación Media Superior y Superior del Estado de Michoacán (Iemsysem) opened registration for the D4TA Datos Gratis program, offering 4 GB of free mobile data, unlimited social‑media access, calls and messages to high‑school and university students. Director Mariana Sosa Olmeda urged students to sign up by 28 August at data.michoacan.gob.mx.

Chip distribution for secondary‑school students runs from 17 August to 2 September, while university students receive theirs between 7 and 30 September. Physical registration and activation points, including a module at the Centro de Convenciones y Exposiciones de Morelia (Ceconexpo), will be available throughout the city. The initiative is part of the state government's effort to narrow the digital divide and support academic activities for the 2026‑2027 school cycle.
