Michoacán readies 125 heavy‑machinery units for rainy‑season road emergencies
The state Secretariat of Communications and Public Works (SCOP) in Michoacán has completed a deployment of 125 heavy‑machinery units to address road incidents during the upcoming rainy season. Of these, 87 units belong to SCOP and the remaining 38 are provided by the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The equipment will be supported by multiyear conservation brigades covering about 680 km of highways and routine maintenance crews that attend to roughly 100 road sections. Monitoring will focus on flood‑prone river basins in the Bajío, Lerma‑Chapala, Tepalcatepec, Costa and Cuitzeo regions, while the Sierra‑Costa, Tierra Caliente and Oriente areas will be watched for landslide risk. Real‑time detection will enable rapid dispatch of the appropriate crews and machinery, with detailed reporting to refine future preventive plans.
