Microsoft and Mistral AI announce new enterprise AI platform and model updates

Microsoft has consolidated its enterprise AI platform under the name Microsoft Foundry, formerly known as Azure AI Foundry. The platform is designed to help organizations move AI agents from experimental stages to production by providing a managed runtime, access to over 11,000 models, and essential governance, security, and identity controls.

Separately, Mistral AI has released Mistral 3, a multimodal AI platform featuring both dense and mixture-of-experts models. The release includes Mistral Large 3 and Ministral 3, which are available under the Apache 2.0 license. These models support multilingual capabilities and image understanding, allowing for deployment across cloud, data center, and edge environments.
