Microsoft expands AI agent capabilities for Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365

Microsoft has expanded its AI agent capabilities through new integrations for Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365. The company has made two agent connectors generally available: the Dynamics 365 ERP plugin for Copilot and the Dynamics 365 ERP Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. These tools allow AI agents to read and act upon ERP records while maintaining the security and business logic of the Dynamics 365 system.

Additionally, Microsoft Agent 365 now supports third-party agents built with n8n. This integration allows n8n automations to operate within Microsoft 365 applications like Teams, Word, and Outlook. By using Entra ID, these third-party agents can be managed through Microsoft’s identity and governance layers, providing a structured way to bring workflow-based automations into the existing workplace ecosystem.

Microsoft is also transitioning from twice-yearly release waves to a continuous roadmap for Dynamics 365, with new AI and automation capabilities planned through March 2027.
