Microsoft expands Copilot in SharePoint with new PDF and reporting tools
Microsoft has introduced new capabilities for Copilot in SharePoint, focusing on content refinement, document management, and automated reporting following its general availability rollout.
New PDF functionalities allow users to split, merge, and reorder PDF pages or sections directly within SharePoint. This enables the extraction of specific segments, such as pricing sections from RFP packets, without leaving the platform.
Additionally, Copilot can now generate HTML-formatted reports from SharePoint content. These reports can be prepared for email distribution, where the content is placed directly into the email body rather than as an attachment. To ensure security, sending emails is classified as a sensitive action, requiring explicit user approval after a preview is shown.
Other updates include the ability to review and restore earlier file versions, use plugins to connect with other business systems, and utilize Copilot Credits for advanced features like image generation and site analytics.
