Microsoft moves to close or sell Ninja Theory studio after Senua announcement

Microsoft, which bought the UK‑based Ninja Theory studio in 2018, is reported to be planning either the closure of the Cambridge studio or its sale to an external buyer. Employees were informed of the possible shutdown shortly after the studio presented its new game Senua at the recent Xbox Games Showcase. The studio, known for the Hellblade series, hopes to find a buyer to continue development of the Senua project.

The move appears to be part of a wider Xbox Game Studios restructuring that has also put other studios such as Double Fine and Compulsion Games under review. Microsoft has not issued an official statement confirming the closure, and the future of the Senua title remains uncertain.
