Microsoft ramps up Xbox franchise development and reveals new Hellblade title
Microsoft has approved increased spending to accelerate development of its flagship Xbox series, including Halo, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. The plan, endorsed by CEO Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood, also explores restructuring options such as spinning off the Xbox division or forming a joint venture, though no budget decisions are finalised.
Ninja Theory announced its next Hellblade game, "Senua," as the series' third entry. The studio said the title will be "quite a bit longer" and more expansive, featuring dual‑wield combat, a larger interconnected world and new puzzles. Scheduled for release in 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, the game will follow the protagonist trapped between the living and the dead.
