Microsoft releases August update for Visual Studio

Microsoft has released the August update for Visual Studio, introducing significant enhancements to artificial intelligence integration and Git workflow management.

Regarding AI capabilities, developers can now adjust the reasoning level of the AI model to match the complexity of specific tasks. The update also allows for the sharing of custom agents across an organization and provides a way to monitor GitHub Copilot usage directly within the IDE without disrupting the workflow.

Git functionality has been upgraded with the introduction of worktrees, which allow developers to manage multiple branches simultaneously by assigning each branch its own working directory. Additionally, the update includes native support for Git submodules, featuring a dedicated section in the Git Repository window to add, update, or remove submodules with improved visibility into the parent-child hierarchy.
