Microsoft releases PowerToys version 0.102 with new mouse tools

Microsoft has released version 0.102 of PowerToys, an open-source collection of utilities for Windows. This update introduces several new features designed to enhance mouse functionality and workflow efficiency.

New mouse-related tools include ‘Mouse Button Lock’, which allows users to maintain a button-pressed state for dragging or selecting without holding the button down, and ‘CursorHide’, which automatically hides the pointer during text input or periods of inactivity.

The Command Palette has been improved with a ‘quick-access shelf’ that allows users to pin frequent commands and access them via keyboard shortcuts. Additionally, the ZoomIt tool now features on-device transcription, enabling users to record spoken explanations during screenshots and paste both the image and the text simultaneously.

Other updates include expanded command-line support for tools like Advanced Paste and Peek, as well as migrations for Color Picker and Text Extractor to WinUI 3.
