Microsoft releases September 2026 software and roadmap updates

Microsoft has released several updates regarding its software ecosystem for September 2026. Licensing guides for Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Copilot Studio show no changes in pricing or subscription capacity compared to the August edition. However, Dynamics 365 Headless Commerce has reached general availability, introducing two new add-ons: Headless import and Headless orchestration. These currently appear as $0 placeholders in the catalog.

In the Microsoft 365 roadmap, 19 new items were added. SharePoint updates include a new Admin Center report providing detailed item-level permissions for ‘Everyone except external user’ and ‘Everyone special’ groups. Additionally, Microsoft is developing PowerShell support for deleting brand font files via the Remove-SPOFontFile cmdlet, scheduled for release in September 2026. Future developments also include structured document generation with Forms for Microsoft Copilot, expected in October 2026.
