To address long-term hardware needs, Microsoft is reportedly in negotiations with TSMC to secure manufacturing capacity for over 300,000 Maia 300 AI chips, with delivery targeted for 2027.

In a related development, IREN has completed the first of four planned “Horizon” cloud deployments for Microsoft at its Childress, Texas facility. This 50-megawatt deployment, which utilizes direct-to-chip liquid cooling and Nvidia GB300 systems, marks a major milestone in a $9.7 billion five-year contract between the two companies.
