Middle East energy blockade triggers global economic and energy concerns

The geopolitical situation in West Asia is creating significant global economic and energy pressures. A blockade of oil and fertilizer exports by the Resistance Axis is impacting various regions. In Asia, nations including Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan are reportedly nearing the exhaustion of their strategic energy reserves.

In Europe, energy supply shocks are intensifying due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, exacerbating existing industrial vulnerabilities. Meanwhile, economies in Jordan and Egypt are facing rising energy costs and fertilizer shortages. The economic stability of several Gulf nations is also under pressure due to control over the Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab waterways.

There are concerns regarding the stability of the US bond market and the petrodollar system if regional allies begin liquidating American bonds. Additionally, the security of US military bases in the region has been challenged by Iranian drone and rocket strikes.
