Międzyrzec Podlaski to host new Polish Border Guard station

The Nadbużański Border Guard Unit and the town of Międzyrzec Podlaski have signed a letter of intent to establish a new Border Guard station in the municipality. The project involves the city transferring part of a plot of land to the State Treasury with a 99 percent discount to accommodate the new facility and its administrative-technical infrastructure.

The planned unit is expected to eventually employ approximately 80 officers. Its responsibilities will include monitoring the legality of foreign residents' stays and employment, migration reconnaissance, detecting border crimes on major communication routes, and conducting criminal, administrative, and misdemeanor proceedings. The station's jurisdiction will cover several areas, including Biała Podlaska, Leśna Podlaska, Drelów, Międzyrzec Podlaski, Siedlce, and parts of the Łosice district.

In conjunction with these developments, the Polish Border Guard is actively conducting recruitment. The service offers various benefits, including housing allowances ranging from 900 to 1,800 PLN net, pension rights after 25 years of service, and an annual thirteenth-month salary bonus. Net salaries for new trainees are reported to be approximately 5,800 PLN for those under 26 and 5,400 PLN for those over 26.
