Migros invests 9 million Euros in livestock farm in Aydın

Migros has launched a 9 million Euro breeding livestock farm in the Koçarlı district of Aydın, Turkey, aimed at increasing the country's red meat production and breeding stock. The facility spans a 140,000 square meter operational area and is designed to reach a capacity of 10,000 head of cattle.

In the initial phase, the farm introduced 3,600 Angus and Hereford breeding cows, breeds selected for their high meat efficiency and durability. The facility has already recorded its first 600 calf births, with plans to eventually reach an annual production capacity of 5,000 calves.

The infrastructure includes 14 barns across a 36,000 square meter semi-open area, a closed infirmary, a 12,000-ton silage storage area, a 5,000 square meter roughage warehouse, and a 4,000-ton underground liquid manure discharge center. Ekmel Baydur, a member of the Migros Group Marketing Executive Board, stated that the company supplies approximately 600,000 small ruminants and 100,000 large ruminants annually from breeders across Turkey.
