Miguelturra inaugurates memorial garden for perinatal loss

The town of Miguelturra is inaugurating the ‘Garden of the Stars’, a memorial space dedicated to families who have experienced perinatal and neonatal loss. The opening is scheduled for Thursday, October 15, coinciding with the International Day of Gestational, Perinatal, and Neonatal Death.

Located in the park on Avenida de los Descubrimientos, the garden is designed as a quiet and respectful environment for reflection. The centerpiece is a light stone monolith featuring a transparent panel with small metal stars, where each star symbolizes a life. The memorial also includes a representation of a hand with butterflies and the phrase ‘Even the smallest feet leave eternal footprints’.

The initiative was developed in collaboration with the association Meciendo Estrellas Castilla-La Mancha to provide visibility to grieving families and ensure they have a dedicated place to honor their loss.
