Mike Lindell faces legal scrutiny over campaign giveaways and lawsuit dismissal

Mike Lindell, founder of MyPillow and candidate for Minnesota governor, distributed miniature pillows and copies of his autobiography during a campaign parade. The giveaways, costing about $13,300 for 2,500 pillows and $250,000 for books, prompted questions about compliance with Minnesota campaign‑finance rules that prohibit providing items of monetary value to induce votes. Legal experts described the practice as a “gray area,” noting possible violations involving self‑dealing and alleged discounted pricing.

Separately, Dominion Voting Systems—now operating as Liberty Vote—has dismissed its $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against Lindell and MyPillow with prejudice. Both parties will bear their own legal costs, and the case cannot be refiled. Lindell said the dismissal does not stop his criticism of voting‑machine companies.
