Mike Lindell gets Donald Trump's endorsement for Minnesota governor race

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he fully endorses MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell for the Republican nomination for Minnesota governor, calling him "one of America’s greatest and most hard‑working Patriots" and the "Pillow Man." Trump said Lindell "truly loves Minnesota" and will "bring it back from oblivion and embarrassment."

Lindell, a vocal supporter of Trump's false 2020 election fraud claims, is competing in the Aug. 11 Republican primary against state House Speaker Lisa Demuth, businessman Kendall Qualls and other candidates. The primary will determine the GOP challenger to Democrat Amy Klobuchar, who is the presumptive Democratic nominee after Governor Tim Walz withdrew from the race.

The campaign focuses on alleged welfare fraud in Minnesota’s pandemic‑era childcare programs, with Republicans highlighting the scandal and Lindell pledging to eliminate voting machines in favor of hand‑counted paper ballots. Democrats, led by Klobuchar, have emphasized the state's immigration‑related incidents and other policy issues. State GOP officials expressed surprise at Trump's endorsement, noting concerns about Lindell’s electability and financial liabilities.
