Mike Lindell settles Dominion lawsuit while leading Minnesota governor primary

Mike Lindell, founder of MyPillow, reached a confidential settlement with Dominion Voting Systems (now operating as Liberty Vote) to end the defamation lawsuit filed in 2021 that sought $1.3 billion in damages. The settlement, entered with prejudice, prevents the case from being re‑filed. Lindell called the resolution a “big relief,” saying it allows him to focus on his campaign for governor of Minnesota.

Lindell is currently the front‑runner in the Republican primary for the Minnesota governor’s race, holding a lead in a recent KSTP/SurveyUSA poll. He is seeking an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, who has indicated Lindell “deserves” the governorship. The primary will determine the Republican challenger to Democratic incumbent Senator Amy Klobuchar in the November general election. Lindell previously faced other defamation judgments, including a $2.3 million award to a Dominion employee and a $780,000 judgment to DHL.
