Mike Lindell to fund Minnesota gubernatorial primary recount

Mike Lindell, the founder of MyPillow, has announced his intention to personally fund a full hand recount and audit of the paper ballots from the Minnesota Republican gubernatorial primary. Lindell finished a distant second to House Speaker Lisa Demuth in the August 11 election.

Lindell cited various “irregularities” as the basis for his decision, including claims of vote totals moving backward during reporting and unusual synchronized totals across Republican candidates. He stated that he intends to use a Minnesota law that allows candidates to request a full hand count regardless of the margin of defeat.

The estimated cost for the recount is approximately $825,000. Lindell noted that even if the audit does not overturn the election results, he views the effort as a “gateway to getting rid of these electronic voting machines.”
