Mike Perry and Dillon Danis are preparing for an MMA matchup scheduled for August 29 in Florida. During a recent face-to-face encounter, the fighters discussed their respective backgrounds, including Danis's grappling expertise and Perry's knockout power.

Danis addressed the possibility of fighting on the Dana White's Contender Series, stating he would decline because he considers himself a ‘big money fight’ and believes a victory over Perry would lead to main card opportunities instead. He also addressed claims regarding his fighting experience, with the two engaging in a dispute over whether his record accurately reflects his skill level.

BKFC president David Feldman commented on Perry's focus on MMA rather than bare-knuckle fighting. While Perry has not competed in the BKFC ring since October 2025, Feldman noted that Perry has been permitted to pursue outside opportunities. Feldman expressed confidence in potentially arranging a match between Perry and Darren Till in early 2027, pending the outcome of the Danis fight.
