Mikro Ethniko presents ‘Robben, Heart of the Forest’ at Rex Theatre

The Mikro Ethniko is presenting a new theatrical production titled ‘Robben, Heart of the Forest’ at the Rex Theatre–Eleni Papadaki Stage, starting October 30. Written and directed by Dimitris Kouroubalis and Frosos Korrou, the play explores themes of ecological sensitivity and solidarity.

The narrative follows Robin, a forest ranger whose love for nature leads him into conflict with a Commissioner focused on industrial profit and modernization. As Robin attempts to protect the forest from being replaced by roads, factories, and mines, he is declared an outlaw and joins a community of like-minded individuals, becoming ‘Robben’. The production aims to use music and cinematic-style stage battles to connect audiences, particularly children, with the importance of forest ecosystems.
