Milan Fire Department Receives 30,000 Liters of Seized Diesel for Free Use

The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza in Milan seized 30,000 liters of diesel that had been adulterated and intended for illegal sale. The judiciary ordered the fuel to be released and transferred to the Milan provincial command of the Vigili del Fuoco (Fire Department).

The diesel will be sent to the Eni refinery in Sannazzaro de' Burgondi for analysis and re‑conditioning, after which it can be used at no cost for the fire service’s institutional and emergency operations. Officials say the arrangement will generate a significant saving for public finances amid volatile energy prices and demonstrates a practical example of circular economy in the justice system.
