Milan Ondrík discusses intense preparation for film ‘Bojovník’

Actor Milan Ondrík has discussed the intense physical and emotional preparation required for his role in the film ‘Bojovník’, where he portrays legendary boxer Pavel Hoffmeister.

Ondrík detailed the challenges of balancing rigorous combat sports training with the demands of a twelve-hour filming schedule. To prepare for the role, he engaged in MMA training, including grappling and ground fighting, and even participated in a real fight for the Králi ulice organization. During filming in Ostrava, he reported running approximately seventy kilometers in just two days to maintain the character's physical condition.

Beyond the physical toll, Ondrík emphasized the psychological depth of the role, noting that the character requires significant emotional vulnerability. He described his approach to acting as a constant exploration of personal limits, stating, ‘Average is death.’
