Milan prosecutors investigate death of two-year-old girl

The parents of a two-year-old girl who died at the Buzzi Children's Hospital in Milan have filed a formal complaint with the Milan Prosecutor's Office. The child had been admitted to the Rho hospital emergency room on Tuesday, September 8, complaining of abdominal pain and vomiting. Following a cardiac arrest, she was transferred to the Buzzi hospital, where she passed away on Wednesday, September 9.

Prosecutor Rosaria Stagnaro has opened a file for manslaughter against unknown persons. The Carabinieri NAS (Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit) have seized the child's medical records as part of the investigation. An autopsy has been ordered but not yet scheduled. Authorities are working to reconstruct the timeline of the child's deterioration to determine the exact cause of death and whether medical negligence occurred.
